Norm's particular interest is in workforce
analysis and succession management tools which enable organisations to
manage a multi-generational workforce. Norm has worked in Human
Resource Planning in public and private sector and has consulted on
every aspect of Human Resource Management from recruitment to
outplacement.
Norm brings a breadth and depth of
exerience in strategic human resource planning. From his early role as
economist with the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Norm moved into
workforce planning where he conducted studies for the Department of
Social Security in Social Welfare Manpower, for the Business Council on
the Labour Market and for Esso's major resource projects.
Following a period at Telecom as Principal HR Planner, Norm was a
member of the NSW Government's Senior Executive Service employed in the
Sydney Water Board's HR Division. As head of the Workforce Planning
Unit he established and managed the Board's Executive Development Unit
and Career Assistance Program.
Between1994 and 2000, and prior to co-founding Orijen, Norm conducted
assignments for St George Bank, Shell Dartbrook Coal, Sydney Buses, NSW
TAFE, Sydney Cove Authority, John Fairfax, Compaq Computer, and First
State Computing, the NSW Department of Community Services as well as
providing a regular segment to the Audio Magazine "Business Drive Time"
on labour market issues.
